The former residence of Lei Chang is located in Minjian Village, Qianfo Town, Jingyan County, Leshan City. It has a history of more than two hundred years. It is currently the largest, most typical and most well-preserved residenc-e in southwest Sichuan. It is listed as a municipal-level key cultural relics protection unit in 1986, and was listed as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit in 2007. It was selected as the eighth batch of national key cu-ltural relics protection units in October 2019. It is also a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The former residence of Lei Chang, known as the "living fossil of residential buildings in southwest Sichuan", is also known as the "Lei Family Courtyard". Although it has gone through more than 200 years of wind and rain, the c-ultural history still exists, and it is a great cultural heritage left to future generations in terms of architectural art. In recent years, it has continuously attracted tourists from all over the world to visit and tour.

The former residence of Lei Chang has 12 large and small courtyards. The courtyards on the central axis are more square, with an osmanthus tree planted on the left and right, which means "rich and honor." The side room is sm-all and exquisite, with a large walnut tree planted in it, and light enters the patio through the walnut canopy, forming a unique landscape; the back of the former residence is a long and narrow patio space. Walking among them, ancient charm spontaneously emerges.

The Lei clan ancestral hall adjacent to Lei Chang's former residence was built by a group of immigrants surnamed Lei who migrated from Hu-guang to Sichuan during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty and settled in Jingyan County, covering an area of nearly 1,000 square meters. The gate is made of blue bricks, standing majestic. The entire building, including the courtyard, hall, and stage, has preserved the original appearance of ancient charm. It is a rare "living specimen" of folk ancestral halls in Western Sichuan.
