The "2025 Famous Tourist Cities & Towns and Scenic Area Innovation Development Cases and Promotion Conference", hosted by the China Tourist Attractions Association, was held in Beijing. The Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area stood out with its unique cultural and tourism charm, becoming the only scenic area in Leshan selected for the "2025 Famous Tourist City Innovation Development Cases". This national-level honor enhances the image of Leshan City as a distinctive tourist destination and marks another significant achievement in the tourism development history of the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area.

At the conference, Wang Xinhe, head of the Cultural and Tourism Integration Development Bureau of the scenic area, served as a promotional speaker. He delivered an excellent on-site presentation showcasing the scenic area's unique blend of humanistic and natural charm, profound cultural heritage, and achievements in inbound tourism to the assembled audience from various sectors. He also extended a warm invitation to tourists nationwide. Wang stated that the scenic area will take this award as an opportunity to continuously promote the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry, propelling the Leshan Giant Buddha IP brand into broader markets.
Over the past two years, the scenic area has delved into overseas markets, deepening cooperative relationships with international partner scenic areas such as the Giant's Causeway in the UK, Lumbini Sacred Garden in Nepal, and Gödöllő Palace in Hungary. It has conducted multiple mutual exchange visits and promotional activities. The area has invited over 1,400 travel agents from more than 70 countries for in-depth inspections of its tour products. It has also hosted visits by internet influencers from 25 countries and established cooperative relationships with over 40 overseas travel agencies. Simultaneously, the scenic area has deployed over 50 iFLYTEK translation devices to enable real-time interpretation and introduced self-service audio guides in seven languages. It has launched bilingual (Chinese-English) versions of the "Scenic Area Guide Map," "Inbound Payment Map," and "World Heritage Map." A "one-stop" service station for foreign tourists has been set up within the scenic area, providing convenient services such as legal consultation, translation assistance, and emergency coordination to eliminate language barriers comprehensively. In 2024, the scenic area received 227,000 inbound tourists, a year-on-year increase of 386.08%. In the first half of 2025, it received 139,700 overseas tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 28.59%.
