Planning of Chengdu Chongqing "back garden"

Since ancient times, landscape culture has always been the proud background of Leshan City. As an important city on the Bashu cultural tourism corridor, Leshan seized the opportunity of the construction of the Chengdu-Chon-gqing dual city economic circle,  and its development goals and paths became increasingly clear.

"Building the 'back garden' of Chengdu-Chongqing region, building an important tourism destination in the world, and participating in the construction of Bashu cultural tourism corridor are the major missions entrusted to Les-han by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government." Wang Ying, section chief of the Planning Section of Leshan Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, said that from historical and cultural cities to national key tourist cities, to the world's important tourist destinations in the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor, Leshan City has its own thinking on how to integrate and how to build it.

After planning accurately, Leshan City has shown strong confidence and determination to improve its cultural and tourism development capacity and promote the construction of Bashu cultural tourism corridor with the development idea of "one region and two circles".

"In the layout of Leshan's' 14th five year plan 'tourism integrated development plan, Leshan adheres to the whole region tourism development and develops the great Emei tourism circle and the small Liangshan tourism circl-e." According to Wang Ying, Leshan will make good use of Buddhism, Zen, martial arts, music, food and other elements, speed up the cultivation of new business forms and new scenes such as health and vacation, smart cultural -tourism, research and learning tourism, adhere to the dual core drive of Mount Emei Scenic Spot and Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Spot, so that Leshan can have scenery everywhere.

“We will continue to promote the construction of Bashu World Heritage alliance, the 'greater Emei' cultural tourism development alliance, Chengdu -Chongqing-Leshan tourism industry alliance and other alliances, and initiate the establishment of Bashu cultural tourism promotion alliance to fully integrate into the construction of Bashu cultural tourism corridor.” Wang Ying said frankly that Leshan is strengthening its efforts to jointly build the Bashu -cultural tourism corridor, improving its level, jointly developing tourism routes, sharing tourist resources, and deepening cultural and tourism industry cooperation.

Yaobin, director of the Bureau of tourism and culture of Mount Emei Scenic Spot, said that the scenic spot fully ex-ploits cultural resources, actively integrates into the "circle of friends" of the Bashu cultural and tourism corridor, constantly enriches tourism products, and promotes capacity expansion and quality improvement.

With smooth travel and comfortable travel, the attraction of Mount Emei Scenic Area is constantly increasing. "While accelerating the development of the southern mountain area of Mount Emei, Mount Emei Scenic Area will als-o complete the construction of the 2-kilometer Jinding-Wanfoding pedestrian path, transform and upgrade the Jinding cableway project, reopen the Wanfoding , and open the 'north to south' transportation ring road." The lotus flower in the center of the square slowly opened its petals, with water mist rising and streamer overflowing. Along Leshan Giant Buddha culture square, passing through the memorial archway of the Giant Buddha from the north gate is the "Liu-du" Buddhist culture corridor. At present, the number of days tourists stay in the central urban area of Leshan has increased from 1.2 days to 2.4 days. 

The continuous enrichment of new cultural and tourism scenes, new business forms and new products make Leshan more confident in building a Bashu cultural tourism corridor as an important tourism destination in the world. "Leshan City sits on the golden waterway in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River economic belt and will strive to build the Min river cultural and tourism industrial belt."Wang Ying said that starting from Leshan Port, you can connect to Chengdu and Meishan on the top, and directly to Yibin, Luzhou, and Chongqing on the bottom, connecting the world-class cultural tourism resources in the Bashu area.
